1. Meeting Called to Order
The meeting was called to order at 2:00 p.m.
2. Approval of Agenda

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the agenda for the August 19, 2016, Committee of Adjustment hearing be approved.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the minutes of the Committee of Adjustment meeting held on June 24th, 2016, be approved.
5. Hearing of Minor Variance Applications
i) DUNKLEY, James and Carole -- Application No. A06-16
PURPOSE AND EFFECT OF THE APPLICATION:
The owners are seeking relief from Section 5.36 b) i) Sleeping Cabins, Wards 5 and 6, which stipulates that the maximum Total Floor Area of each sleeping cabin, including the floor area of any basement, does not exceed 40 square metres (430 square feet) in size.
The purpose of the proposed application is to allow a variance of 12.29 square metres (132.3 square feet) from the maximum size of a sleeping cabin. The effect of the proposed variance would be the construction of a 22.29 square metre ( 240 square feet) addition to an existing sleeping cabin giving it a total floor area of 52.29 square metres (563 square feet).
The owners have stated that increasing the size of their 73 square metre (785.8 square feet) main cottage is not financially viable because of how it is positioned. They wish to expand the existing sleeping cabin and not build an additional cabin, so that grandchildren can stay together.
Cale Henderson; Secretary Treasurer, explained the nature of the application. James and Carole Dunkley attended in support of the application.
