Flag Raising Request
The Township of The Archipelago recognizes that flags, as symbols of nations, territories and community organizations, are important to residents of the municipality.
As a matter of practice, the Township of The Archipelago uses special flag raisings to enhance public awareness of activities such as national holidays, multicultural events, fundraising drives, and historical commemorations important to the residents of the Archipelago. The municipality also flys flags at half-mast to mark periods of official mourning or to commemorate solemn occasions important to its residents.
Non-profit organizations and groups are welcome to submit requests for the municipality to fly flags. Flag raising requests must meet the criteria identified in the Township of The Archipelago's Municipal Flag Policy.
